Garcia breaks down KO of Duno ahead of fight with Fonseca

The star prospect returns to action on Friday following last November’s quick work against Romero Duno.
Ryan Garcia is on the cusp of a breakout in boxing, and becoming known fully for his in-ring exploits, rather than having people refer to his magnetism on social media, and then his pugilism skills.
You can see for yourself when on Friday night on DAZN Garcia (19-0, 16 KO) goes on a Valentine’s Day date, for the world to see.
The WBC silver lightweight champ is coming off a win over Romero Duno, and the Golden Boy hitter invites patrons to the Honda Center to see his clash with Francisco Fonseca. I’d guess his 4.8 million-follower IG account will pop a bit if he’s able to dispatch Fonseca in strong fashion.
Garcia, age 21, is the fighting pride of Victorville, California, and we’ll see if Fonseca (25-2-2, 19 KO), who has battled Gervonta Davis and Tevin Farmer, can test “Kingry” more than Duno did.
The 24-year-old Duno came in 21-1 when he collided with Garcia at Staples Center, supporting the Canelo Alvarez-Sergey Kovalev main event, which also ran on DAZN.
Better to say Garcia’s fists collided with Duno’s face. This video offers a deeper dive into the first round KO win for the Instagram Assassin:
Garcia said he knew he was going to win, and pretty easily at that.
“As you can see, the punch was quick,” he says, referring to a zippy left hook. “It was the quick left hook, right around the temple, that caught him.”
The fighter, trained by Eddy Reynoso and father Henry Garcia, makes a solid point, you need to slow down that sequence fame by frame. Only then do you see that it was NOT a glancing blow that messed up Duno’s equilibrium, it only looked that way because of Garcia’s top-tier hand speed.
Garcia has a name for that punch, and it honors the ATG Muhammad Ali. Watch the video, and hear what Garcia calls that balance buster of a left hook.
